Protect your PC from USB (flash drive) Viruses


As now a days the use of flash drive has increased therefore level of threats by USB viruses has also increased.In case of flash drives, viruses are easily transfered from infected PC to flash drive and vice versa.Well knownUSB virus are antorun.inf ,kinza,ravmon etc.Even if you try to open the flash drive these virus gets installed, due to auto run property.
In order to protect your computer from USB virus first disable the autoplay.

You can disable autoplay using following steps:
  1. Type gpedit.msc in Run command.Thus group policy window opens
  2. Click on Administrative template under Computer configuration
  3. Then on right side of the window open system menu
  4. Under system menu double click Turn off autoplay.
  5. In Turn off autoplay window select turn off autoplay for all drives
  6. then select enable >> apply>>OK.
  7. After this is done ,Click on Administrative template under User configuration
  8. Then on right side of the window open system menu
  9. Under system menu double click Turn off autoplay.
  10. In Turn off autoplay window select turn off autoplay for all drives
  11. then select enable >> apply>>OK.
Thus now autoplay is disable in your computer.

Everytime you insert flash drive in your computer, first scan it with antivirus before opening it.After all prevention is better than cure.
